Donovan's Greatest Hits
Donovan In Concert

If you want to learn about Flower Power, you have to start with Donovan, the guru of the Summer of Love. And, oh, those songs... infinitely mysterious, uniquely etherial, and Incredibly catchy. Just listen for a moment and you're instantly transported back (although we have to admit, sometimes it's more like flashing back).

And, for a change, this time we're telling you our preferred choice is a compilation. Not because the original albums haven't been released, but because it's essentially the same album that was released in '69. Same cover. Same songs (with four bonus tracks). BUT, different song order. Hmmm... (It does matter to some of us). But aside from that, it's a re-release of an album that's as much a classic as any of Donovan's other LPs.

If, perchance, you're interested in delving in further than just the groovy tunes, you can get into the whole hippie mindset with Donovan In Concert. It is simply the trippiest recording you can imagine... part folk, part blues, part jazz, part pop, ALL psychedelic! Well worth the wait through the endless intro (hey, that's when we used to roll the funny cigs). YOU WILL DIG IT.
