Painting the Day:
The Angelic Psychedelia of
The Cowsills

The original, real-life family pop group, with the kids and Mom Barbara harmonizing and Dad Bud managing, And, what do ya know... The Cowsills still sound pretty happenin' today.

All the hit singles are here, PLUS you get The Cowsills' gallant stab at a psychedelic album, II x II, in it's entirety. We have to admit, the only thing we really miss in this collection is The Milk Song, the super-hip tune they did for that Milk Council TV commercial in the late '60s:

Rain, the Park and Other Things
Dreams of Linda
Could It Be, Let Me Know
Siamese Cat
We Can Fly
Mr. Flynn
Beautiful Beige
Indian Lake
Fantasy World of Harry Faversham
Painting the Day
Hair
Love American Style
II x II
I Really Want to Know You
Start to Love
Signs
Goodtime Charlie
Anything Changes
Silver Threads & Golden Needles
Night Shift
Prophecy of Daniel and John the Divine
Don't Look Back
Father

It would be nice if this compilation offered us that original "Best of The Cowsills" Mad Magazine album cover, but, hey I guess you can't have everything. (At least we get that spinning funhouse barrel thingy pic.)

But, hey! There's still a compilation out there using the image. So, we'll just give that cover here and you can pretend. Just take note. Don't buy this CD. Follow our orders and buy the one we tell you to. Stop be such a wise-acre.
